Poppies, agapanthus, wild roses, daisies, foxgloves, and pine needles grace our Botany Print, which is based on an original painting by Annie, and beautifully captures the spirit of California. The bear, a symbol of California's wilderness, embodies resilience and untamed beauty, and the field of California wildflowers celebrates the state’s flora.
We can print up to 44” wide on most of our designs, so contact us for a quote if you need a specific size.
This print, and all the prints in the “I Love You California” collection, are inspired by a sheet music cover illustration from 1913 for the song, "I Love You, California.” In 1987, it became the official state song of California. Annie and Eric discovered the vintage illustration around 2010, and Annie started painting versions of it, surrounding the bear with floral patterns, forests, mountain scenes, geometric designs, etc. the paintings became so popular, we started offering prints of them.
Annie loves to draw and paint, and could easily do it for hours every day. She finds solace and inspiration on the canvas, and also gets through a lot of podcasts and audiobooks while wielding a brush. Her favorite paints are liquid acrylics by Golden, and she buys stretched canvas from Blick. Annie is the artist behind the “I love you California” collection, as well as the 49 Mile Drive collection and the Original Paintings collection.
I’m so excited for this print! I’ve actually been searching the internet for it for almost 7 years now, and was so excited to find it. I actually put this in the order notes, and received an extra Massachusetts print with my order, which is my new/old state I moved back to after living in CA for a while. Thank you so so much, I love them both! :)
We received our beautiful California print in the mail with a surprise print for Nebraska! They’re both so great. I can’t stop staring at them and I can’t wait to get them framed for display!
I've given these prints as a going away gift for people leaving CA for work, college, etc. They all love it!
Not my first order of this absolutely rad print and well received as always. This one is now in New Zealand with a Native Californian missing home while working in winemaking!
I love my new print. It is so happy, colorful and whimsical. I had it custom framed with non glare glass in a narrow cobalt blue metal frame, and it hangs in the eating area in the kitchen section of my great room. Stunning!
