Holiday Gift Guide: Jill!
’Tis the season to find that very special something(s) for your very special someone(s). It can be tough to track down just the right pressie, so we’re putting together a series of holiday gift guides full of original, affordable art made in San Francisco, plus great local stuff from great local artists and businesses.
Here's what our general manager Jill recommends this year:
The Last Straw boutique
"Don’t miss this gem of a store right across the street from 3 Fish Studios. Marge has been in business almost 40 years and her cute little oh so cozy shop has the best collection of locally sourced jewelry, cool blankets, soaps, baskets and many surprises. She is open Tuesday to Saturday. Perfect place to get a present. Cash or check only. 4540 Irving St between 46th and 47th."
Tooth N Nail Jewelry from Establish
"I especially love the brass jewelry by Tooth N Nail designer Adrienne Moore, an Outer Sunset resident and artist. Her work is featured at Establish in the Outer Sunset; don’t miss their selection of handmade frames from reclaimed wood - perfect for framing up your favorite print. 3811 Noriega St @ 45th."
Bright Day Backpack from Lady Alamo ($114)
"Lady Alamo are great local bag makers working out of the Sunset District. Fun prints (check out the monkeys!) and selection. The backpacks and zip bags are my favorites and the prices are great for a 'made in the USA' product of high quality. Shop online, or check website for an event to see them in person."
Cactus Prints by Annie Galvin from 3 Fish Studios (price varies)
"For a really unique gift for someone with style, come by our studio and pick up an adorable hand painted cactus print by Annie Galvin. They come in many colors and the hardest part is choosing just one. I would fill my whole wall with them if I could. $30 for unframed prick pic, $150 framed."
