A profusion of sweet folk flowers grace our Floral Print, which is based on an original painting by Annie, and beautifully captures the spirit of California. The bear, a symbol of California's wilderness, embodies resilience and untamed beauty, and the rich golden color of the state stands out against the scattering of small flowers on a white background.
We can print up to 44” wide on most of our designs, so contact us for a quote if you need a specific size.
This print, and all the prints in the “I Love You California” collection, are inspired by a sheet music cover illustration from 1913 for the song, "I Love You, California.” In 1987, it became the official state song of California. Annie and Eric discovered the vintage illustration around 2010, and Annie started painting versions of it, surrounding the bear with floral patterns, forests, mountain scenes, geometric designs, etc. the paintings became so popular, we started offering prints of them.
Annie loves to draw and paint, and could easily do it for hours every day. She finds solace and inspiration on the canvas, and also gets through a lot of podcasts and audiobooks while wielding a brush. Her favorite paints are liquid acrylics by Golden, and she buys stretched canvas from Blick. Annie is the artist behind the “I love you California” collection, as well as the 49 Mile Drive collection and the Original Paintings collection.
Can't wait to give this print to my friend who I met in SF over 20 years ago when she comes back for a reunion soon. A great reminder of our love of our time together in SF and our shared friendship!
